Privacy Policy

DNADojo has no accounts, no database and no upload endpoint. This page explains exactly what that means for your data, and what rights you have.

The short version

  • We do not collect personal information from visitors to this website.
  • We never receive your genetic data. There is no upload path to us.
  • There are no accounts, no newsletter, and no email capture.
  • We do not sell, share, rent or license personal information, and we have none to sell.
  • We set no cookies.

Who we are

dnadojo.com is operated by Lizzian LLC, 1942 Broadway St., Ste 314C, Boulder, CO 80302, United States. Lizzian LLC is the controller of any personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at zach@lizzianllc.com.

What we do not collect

Through this website, we do not collect, receive, store or have access to:

  • your name, email address, postal address or telephone number;
  • account credentials — there are no accounts;
  • your raw genotype data, or any part of it;
  • the centimorgan values, relationship names or family details you type into the calculators;
  • any notes, labels or research you produce while using the site;
  • precise location data, biometric identifiers, or any special-category data.

We do not build profiles of visitors, we do not perform automated decision-making about you, and we do not combine anything from this site with data from anywhere else.

What happens to what you enter

A share link you generate The centimorgan value appears in the URL you created. It carries no name or identifier As long as you keep the link No

Genetic data specifically

Genetic data deserves its own paragraph, because it is unlike other personal information: you cannot change it after a breach, it stays accurate for your whole life, and it describes relatives who never agreed to anything.

Lizzian LLC does not collect, receive, store, process on its own servers, analyse, sell, share, license or transfer genetic data. We do not operate a genetic database. We do not match users against one another. We have no genetic data that could be breached, subpoenaed, sold in a bankruptcy, or transferred to an acquirer.

The Local DNA Explorer works by reading a file you select using your browser's own File API and parsing it in a Web Worker on your device. There is no upload endpoint on this site.

If you choose to upload your raw data file to some other service, that is a decision about your relatives as well as yourself, and this policy does not cover it. We would encourage you to read that service's retention, sharing and law-enforcement policies first.

Cookies and local storage

DNADojo sets no cookies.

The Local DNA Explorer can, only if you explicitly ask it to, keep a parsed file on your own device using your browser's storage. That data never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clear local DNA data on the Explorer page removes it; clearing site data for dnadojo.com in your browser settings removes it too.

Analytics

No analytics or measurement provider is connected to this site. No third-party scripts of any kind are loaded.

If that ever changes, we will update this page before it does, and the change will be constrained by how the site is built: the only measurement helper in the codebase accepts a fixed list of event and property names — page views, which tool was opened, whether a calculation completed, how long a parse took, and a coarse file-size bucket — and rejects anything else. Genotypes, rsIDs, file names, note text and centimorgan values tied to a person are not on that list and cannot be sent through it. No measurement code runs on the Local DNA Explorer page.

Third parties

  • Hosting. The site is delivered by a content delivery network. Like any web host, it necessarily processes the network requests that deliver pages to you, which includes your IP address in its own operational logs. We do not use those logs to identify you and do not combine them with anything else.
  • No advertising. There is no advertising and there are no advertising trackers.
  • No data brokers. We do not buy, sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • No AI providers. No DNA, genotype, or family-relationship data is sent to any artificial-intelligence or language-model service. The calculators are ordinary arithmetic running on your device.
  • No testing companies. We have no relationship with any DNA testing service, receive no data from one, and cannot access your account with one.

Because we do not collect personal information through this site, there is generally no processing for which a legal basis is required. To the extent that serving a web page involves processing an IP address, we rely on our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the site.

We would disclose personal information only where we were legally compelled to do so. As we hold none, we would have none to disclose. If we ever received a legal demand relating to this site, we would respond that we hold no user data.

We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve months, and we do not do so. We do not process personal information for targeted advertising or profiling.

Your rights

Privacy laws in many places give you rights over personal information a company holds about you — to know what it holds, to obtain a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to port it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Depending on where you live, these may come from the GDPR or UK GDPR, from California's CCPA as amended by the CPRA, from another US state privacy law, or from a state genetic privacy statute.

We hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, export, correct, restrict or erase, and nothing to opt out of. We are telling you this rather than offering a form that would return an empty result.

If you believe we hold information about you, write to zach@lizzianllc.com. We will investigate and respond within the time your local law requires, and at most within 45 days. You may also authorise an agent to make a request on your behalf. If you are in the EEA or the UK you have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

To remove data held on your own device: use Clear local DNA data on the Explorer page, close the tab, and clear site data for dnadojo.com in your browser settings.

Children

DNADojo is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the local threshold). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact zach@lizzianllc.com.

International visitors

The site is served from a global content delivery network, so its static files reach you from a server near you. Because no personal information is collected, no personal information is transferred internationally by us.

Security

The strongest security measure available to us is the one we have taken: not holding the data. The site is a set of static files with no application server, no database and no user accounts, so there is no store of personal or genetic information to compromise.

The site is served over HTTPS and ships a Content Security Policy that prevents it from loading or contacting third-party code. The architecture page documents how each commitment on this page is enforced in the code, and how you can verify it yourself.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Data you choose to keep on your own device is protected by your device and your browser.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will change and material changes will be described on this page.

Any future feature that would cause Lizzian LLC to receive genetic data would not be a routine update. It would require a fresh privacy assessment, a fresh legal review, and a separate, explicit opt-in — and it would be announced here, not introduced quietly.
